runandguncharacter.CHARACTER NAME: Freelancer Agent Texas (Allison)
SERIES: Red vs. BlueCANON POINT: Immediately after the Blood Gulch Chronicles (RVB season 5).
AGE: ... N/A, which I’ll explain below.
APPEARANCE: A black suit of armor, basically.PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY: N/A
PERSONALITY: Tex makes her appearance early on in the Blood Gulch Chronicles, having been called in by the Blue Team to recover the flag stolen by the Reds. A brutally competent killer and borderline psychopath, she terrifies her new allies, who don’t even know she’s a woman thanks to the voice distorter she’s equipped her suit with. As the only effective soldier on the team, Tex quickly turns the tides, which you’d think would be a good thing. Blue Team ghost (and her ex-boyfriend) Church insist that no, it’s not a good thing, and as a result of his meddling attempts to thwart her -- his plan was to delay her long enough to separate her from her implanted AI -- Tex ends up dead at the hands of Red Team. To make it up to her, Church acquires a robot body for her to possess and use, allowing her to continue … well, doing everything she did when she was alive, like bringing insults and terror to the canyon and punching her teammates in the head while they’re sleeping. She makes it her mission to wipe out O’Malley, the AI she was formerly partnered with and the ultimate antagonist of the series.
If all of that was confusing, well, Red vs. Blue is a complicated story.
Tex is a professional killer and she doesn’t just take her job seriously, she loves it. “I wouldn’t say I’m a mean person,” she tells Tucker, once. “People just pay me to do mean things.” She insists it’s important to enjoy what you do. Utterly ruthless in battle and willing to do just about anything for money, Tex was an ideal choice for recruitment in Project Freelancer, a project which paired freelance soldiers with special training, and AIs which heightened their abilities. Every solider was given a code name after one of the 49 states -- “Poor Florida...” -- and Tex’s was, naturally, Agent Texas. Tex is plenty capable without the AI -- and she was always a bitch, Church insists -- but O’Malley makes her positively bloodthirsty and imbalanced, and once she’s free of him she’s motivated by not much more than just pure hatred, and, of course, the mission.
She eventually grows to tolerate the Blues, and she and Church continue to have a complicated (and quite frankly bizarre) relationship. Considering the fact that they’re both supposedly ghosts piloting cybernetic bodies, they should suddenly have a lot more in common. Instead, they spend most of their time bickering and for all appearances hating her, and despite his infatuation with her, Church doesn’t appear to trust her at all, which is probably wise.
Eventually, the cause for her single mindedness becomes more clear: like Church, Tex is an AI construct pulled from the mind of Dr. Leonard Church. In Tex’s case, she’s based on a woman the doctor loved, who later died -- thanks to her real life counterpart’s fate, or perhaps Dr. Church’s impression of her, Tex finds herself doomed to constantly fail at everything she tries to do, despite her skill and competence. She is herself unaware of this, however, and believes herself to be a (deceased) real woman.
ABILITIES: An enhanced soldier in an enhanced suit, Tex can beat the shit out of virtually anything, and can use virtually any sort of firearm or explosive. She’s extremely capable in hand to hand combat as well, and since she doesn’t have a body, there’s no real limit to the pain or damage she can take -- her suit’s another story though, as that can be damaged or even deactivated, rendering her pretty much helpless. (In this situation, she’d just float around all transparent and ghost-like.) Not being biological or even tangible, she is immune to disease and anything else that effects physiology. Tex can also exist inside electronic systems -- she believes herself to be “possessing” them.
POSSESSIONS: Tex is in possession of a robot body, which looks basically identical to a black suit of MJOLNIR armor.
Edit WAY TO FORGET TO MENTION THIS: It can go invisible for limited periods of time. She also has a battle rifle and a lot of ammunition, and assorted fragmentation and plasma grenades.

crap.
Listen, I don’t know what you guys are playing at, here, but I’m not really interested in your game, so you might as well let me off right here. If not, well, I’m sure we could arrange something, but we’ll be playing by my rules.
[ The microphone picks up the threatening sound of a round being chambered. ]I play
real nice. Try me.
